Product Hunt

Watch your launch votes, rank, and comments climb in real time, directly on your iPhone home screen.

Your launch, always in view

Product Hunt launch day compresses weeks of work into a few critical hours. The Launch Metrics module surfaces your vote count, comment count, review count, average rating, and Product of the Day rank as a home screen widget, so you can stay on top of momentum while you are out talking to users, posting on social, or doing anything other than staring at a browser tab.

What each metric tells you

Votes measures total upvotes on your post. Comments tracks how many people have left a reply, signaling whether your listing is generating conversation. Reviews and Rating work together: review count shows how many people went far enough to leave a write-up, while rating reflects their average score. Rank shows your current position in the Product of the Day list, a single number that tells you whether you are climbing or slipping at any given moment. Votes, comments, and reviews each include historical charts, giving you trajectory across the full launch window rather than just a point-in-time snapshot.

Ready before the countdown

Connect your Product Hunt account, paste your launch URL, slug, or ID into the module, and add the widget to your home screen. PulseKit fetches on demand, so the numbers update whenever you check. Up to 30 days of history is retained, letting you review exactly how votes, comments, and reviews progressed long after your listing rolls off the front page.

How we protect your credentials

PulseKit connects to Product Hunt using OAuth. You authenticate on Product Hunt's own login page, Product Hunt returns a short-lived access token to our TLS callback, and you never type a password into PulseKit. Tokens are stored server-side scoped to this device. We ask for the minimum scopes needed and never share them with another device or another app. Refreshes happen automatically without you re-entering credentials, and tapping disconnect inside PulseKit deletes the token immediately so this device can no longer reach Product Hunt.

Who uses this

  • Indie founders

On launch day you are usually away from your desk, posting on social and responding to people in real time. Votes and rank on your home screen mean you know immediately when momentum is building or stalling, without stopping to navigate back to your Product Hunt listing each time.

  • Product managers

Keeping your team updated throughout a launch requires quick access to votes, rank, comments, and ratings. A home screen widget surfaces that snapshot instantly, so you can drop a meaningful update into Slack without opening a separate analytics tab or asking someone to pull numbers.

  • DevRel managers

Comment count and review volume reveal whether people are genuinely trying your product or just upvoting the listing. Watching both metrics side by side helps you decide when to jump into the comments, which conversations to prioritize, and where community interest is actually concentrated.

  • Growth teams

Tracking vote trajectory and rank across a full launch window helps you understand which outreach pushes had the most measurable impact. Historical charts for votes, comments, and reviews let you correlate timing with engagement spikes, building a reference you can apply to future launches.

FAQs

What metrics does the Product Hunt integration track?

The integration tracks five metrics for a selected launch: Votes (total upvotes), Comments (total comments on the post), Reviews (total review count), Rating (average review score), and Rank (current Product of the Day position). Votes, comments, and reviews each include historical trend charts so you can see momentum over time.

How do I connect my Product Hunt account to PulseKit?

Open PulseKit, select the Product Hunt integration, and tap Connect. You are redirected to Product Hunt's own login page to authorize access. PulseKit never sees your password. After authorizing, you return to PulseKit and can immediately configure a launch URL to start tracking.

Can I track multiple Product Hunt launches at the same time?

Yes. The Launch Metrics module is configured per launch. You can add multiple instances of the module, each pointed at a different launch URL or slug, and place each on a separate widget or home screen page. Every instance tracks its own metrics independently.

How often does PulseKit update my Product Hunt metrics?

PulseKit uses on-demand data fetching, meaning it retrieves fresh numbers from Product Hunt each time you view your widget or open the app. This keeps your home screen current during active launch hours without requiring continuous background sync or additional battery drain.

Does PulseKit store my Product Hunt password?

No. PulseKit uses OAuth, so authentication happens entirely on Product Hunt's own login page. Product Hunt issues a short-lived access token, which PulseKit stores server-side and scopes to your device only. Your password is never entered into or retained by PulseKit. You can revoke access at any time directly from within the app.

How long does PulseKit keep my Product Hunt launch data?

PulseKit retains up to 30 days of historical data for your launch metrics. This lets you review how votes, comments, and reviews trended over the full launch period, even after your post has rolled off the Product Hunt front page.

What does the Rank metric show on the Product Hunt widget?

Rank shows your current position in the Product of the Day ranking at the time of the most recent data fetch. Unlike votes, comments, and reviews, rank does not include a historical chart. It is a live snapshot that tells you where your product stands in the daily competition right now.
